How to Evaluate Similar Chart Pattern Results

Use match quality, timeframe, sample size, and outcome distribution together. No single result card is the whole answer.

Shape: how similar was the movement?

Shape measures resemblance between the selected chart window and the historical match. Higher values indicate a closer match under the app’s method. Inspect the chart itself as well: a numerical score can miss important differences in volatility or pacing.

Rarity and timeframe answer different questions

Rarity helps distinguish a broadly common shape from a more unusual one. It does not mean quality or profitability. Timeframe shows the query and match duration; similar outlines over materially different durations should be treated with care.

Read the group of outcomes

For completed historical results, review the median, positive and negative split, sample size, and outcome spread. The selected result is one example, not a target price. If outcomes are broad or contradictory, the chart shape alone did not provide a stable answer.

Future pending means unknown

Recent Search can reveal active comparable setups. Their future period has not completed, so Pattern Repeater marks them as pending instead of presenting a hypothetical outcome as evidence. Use historical results for completed outcomes and recent results to research current similarity.

Evaluation FAQ

Should I only look at the highest match? No. Inspect several matches and the full historical distribution.

Can a rare result still be weak? Yes. Rarity does not establish reliability.

Why is a recent result future pending? Its later period has not completed, so there is no observed outcome yet.
